The Wood for the Tree, They Cannot See

53 x 34 x 24 cms, paper-clay, polyurethane, acrylic and resin, 2022

This piece delves into intuition and the hesitation to face uncomfortable truths. Created during a time when fear felt omnipresent and voices were being muted, it reflects the weight of collective silence.

Blue, the predominant colour in the work, carries layered meaning. Often linked to truth and clear expression, it is a colour of depth and wisdom, sincerity and stability, yet also of sensitivity and inner knowing.

Through this piece, I wanted to explore the tension between the urge to speak and the systems that suppress — an invitation to listen more closely to the truths we instinctively feel, but often resist acknowledging.
